Maggie Grace is an American actor who was born Margaret Grace Denig in 1983. Her best-known roles include Shannon Rutherford, a character in ABC's Lost series, and Kim Mills from the Taken trilogy. She was born in Worthington in Ohio. She was kicked out of school after her parents separated to go in Los Angeles to live with her mother. However, in 2001, despite financial struggles she managed to land her first major performance in the video online series Rachel's Room as the main character. Her performance as Martha Moxley, a 15-year-old victim of murder in the TV film Murder in Greenwich in 2002 earned her a nomination for a Young Artist Award. In 2004, Grace was chosen to play Shannon Rutherford in the television show Lost where she was the main actor for the first two seasons, and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award shared by the entire cast. Grace was keen to pursue film after starring opposite Tom Welling's character on The Fog, in 2005. She appeared as Kim Mills opposite Liam Neeson (both in Taken 2008) in Suburban Girl and the Jane Austen Book Club. She reprised the role in Taken 2 (2012) and Taken 3 (2014).She played the leading role in Alice In Malice in Wonderland a modern take on Lewis Carroll's novel Alice's Adventures in Wonderland. Grace played the role of Shannon in Lost, including the finale. She was in 2013 for Season 6 of Californication. She portrays Faith she is an admirer and muse to the stars. She's a Gyllenhaal. child of Stephen Gyllenhaal (director) and Naomi Achs (producer), and is more senior in age than Jake Gyllenhaal. The career of her mother began when she was an early teenager, with small roles in several films from her father. She also worked with her brother in 2001's cult film Donnie Darko. She then appeared in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind (both 2002) and Mona Lisa Smile (2003). The leading roles of Gyllenhaal in Secretary, a romantic comedy-drama erotico, as well as Sherrybaby (a drama) have earned her nominations to the Golden Globe Award. The Dark Knight, which came out in 2008 following many highly successful movies, such as World Trade Center (2006) which brought her greater recognition, was a huge success for Gyllenhaal. The year 2009 was the time she received a nomination as the best supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her portrayal of a single mom on screen in Crazy Heart. Then she played in comedies and dramas which included Nanny McPhee's Big Bang (2010) Hysteria 2011, and Won't Back Down 2012 The other roles she played were a Secret Service agent in the action thriller White House Down (2013) and a musician in the film Frank (2014) as well as the title role in the film The Kindergarten Teacher (2018). In 2021 Gyllenhaal has made her scriptwriting and directing debut in the psychological drama The Lost Daughter for which she was awarded an award at the Venice International Film Festival's Best Screenplay Award and was nominated to win the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay.
