Madhuri Dixit
Madhuri is an Indian actress who has gained fame for her role in the films Hum Aapke Haiin Koun as well as Beta Saajan. She started her career in the 80s before coming to fame with her appearance in Tezaab, a film where she appeared with the veteran actor Anil Kapoor. Her next film was the film Dil where she co-starred on the screen alongside Aamir Khan. Her birthplace was in an Mumbai middle class family. She began dancing at a young age. Her first attempt at acting was as a youngster and struggled for some years, as many of her initial films were flops. They gained fame, and soon she was one of India's most prominent film actors. After her wedding, she took one year off and then returned to entertainment. Recently, she had a crucial role in the movie Gulaab Gang which was about the struggles of women who are women in India. Dixit was nominated fifteen times for Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of them. Padma Shri is the fourth highest civilian distinction in India. Her social work is also well-known.
