Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson - born Jacqueline Luesby to Chris Watson and Jacqueline Luesby, two British lawyers, was born on the 8th of July, 1989 in Paris. As a young girl, she moved from London to Oxfordshire where she attended The Dragon School. Emma's ambition was to become an actor. As a young girl of 6, she enrolled in the Oxford Stagecoach Theatre Arts branch and took lessons on singing, acting, and dance. When she was 10 years old, Emma took part in a variety of Stagecoach plays and productions. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie adaptation of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was first cast in 1999. Emma was discovered by Emma's Oxford Theatre teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone and Ron Weasley told Emma after 8 auditions, that she had been chosen for these roles. Emma was chosen to play alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. Emma's first film appearance came with the release of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2002). The movie set records on opening day and weekend sales, and it was the most-recorded 2001 movie. The critics were impressed by the performance of the film as well as its story. The well-known British newspaper The Daily Telegraph called her performance admirable. Emma was later awarded five prizes in recognition of her work in the movie.
